Reinstalling, switching browsers, or new computer? Here's how to get your license back.

The short version

  1. Open the Polar customer portal
  2. Sign in with the email you used when you bought the license. Polar sends a one-time login link — no password.
  3. Find your AI Chat Archive order. Your license key is shown on the order page.
  4. Copy the key, paste it into the extension's license field, click Apply.

Why do I have to do this?

AI Chat Archive has no user accounts, no server-side database of who owns what, and no login system of its own. Your license key is the proof of purchase. When you install the extension on a new device (or reinstall on a clean profile), the extension doesn't know about your previous purchase until you paste the key back in.

On the same Google account, Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync usually carries the license key between your Chrome profiles automatically — no action needed. This page is for cases where sync doesn't apply: a fresh Chrome profile, a different browser (Edge, Brave, Safari), a new Google account, or a full reinstall.

What if my email doesn't work in Polar?

Polar's login sends a magic link to whichever email you used at checkout. Check spam. Try typing the address carefully — an O-for-0 typo is the most common problem.

If you truly can't log in (for example, you've lost access to that email account), contact us at support@aichatarchive.app. Include any receipt or transaction ID you still have, and we'll work with Polar to verify your purchase and reissue the key.

I bought a subscription — same process?

Yes. Subscriptions and lifetime licenses both produce a license key that unlocks the same paid features. Whichever you bought, the restore flow above is identical.
